Airbnb’s Fall 2026 update helps guests find the trip that’s right for them. I worked on a set of features that bring trusted recommendations from people you know, AI that plans in your own words, and new services that make the stay easier once you arrive. We also gave hosts smarter tools to manage pricing and listings.

Situation
Planning a trip meant scrolling endless listings and filters, while the best advice still came from friends outside the app. Once guests arrived, everyday errands ate into their time.
Task
Make it faster to find the right stay, bring trusted recommendations into Airbnb, and support guests beyond check-in.
Action
Designed Connections and the Travel Map, AI search, filters and comparison, new in-stay services, and AI-powered tools for hosts.
Result
Less time from planning to check-in, more confident booking decisions, and a trip that feels easier from start to finish.
Rethinking How Trips Get Planned
Research showed guests trusted friends more than any ranking. They also struggled to express what they wanted through rigid filters. We set out to connect planning to people and let guests search the way they talk.
Discover Where to Go From People You Know
Guests can now connect with family, friends, and past travel companions. An interactive Travel Map shows where connections stayed, what they booked, and their reviews. Privacy controls let you choose which trips appear and how much you share. Neighborhood pages add an overview of each area, from food to getting around.
AI-Powered Trip Planning
A new search bar understands natural language and voice across homes, experiences, and services. Typing “baby” in filters surfaces cribs, playgrounds, and toys instantly. AI descriptions highlight key features, and a side-by-side view compares wishlist homes with AI summaries.
Services That Make the Stay Easier
We expanded Airbnb Services so guests can pack lighter and spend less time on errands. Meal and grocery delivery, laundry pickup, and baby gear rentals arrive right at the listing. Local partners add ski gear in the French Alps and boats in South Florida.
Smarter Tools for Hosts
A multi-listing calendar updates pricing and availability across listings at once. Dynamic pricing adjusts nightly rates within a host’s chosen range. 3D floor plans help guests understand a home before booking, and AI dashboard insights explain performance with suggested next steps.
